Please download this word document in order to have a general overview of the components found within the computer. The following is added text I made to  the note regarding computer components.

Blu-ray Disc

Blu-Ray also known as Blu-Ray Disc is the name of the next generation optical disk format created by the Blu-ray Disc Association. Was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video HD as a well as sorting large amounts of data. Stores up to 5 times more data than conventional DVDs

Wireless Router

The network device that will route IP traffic through several wireless IP networks in order to establish connections to the Internet; wired networks work by buffering and forwarding data pockets. These routers allow for a wireless network within the home. The average speeds of a wireless router include 54 Mbs and 108.0 Mbs. Some popular brands include Linksys and D-Link.

USB thumb drive

A flash memory card plugs into the computer’s USB port. Small enough to hook onto a keychain, it emulates a small disk drive and allows data to be easily transferred from one machine to another. Most thumb drives are compact, rewritable, lightweight and removable. The average capacity of a USB thumb drive would be 703 Mb, although many high-end USB drives can hold 16 GB.

PCI-e

This is a computer expansion card interface format introduced by Intel in 2004. This system was created in order to replace the general purpose PCI expansion bus. It was created not as a bus but is structured as a point to point full duplex serial links called lanes. Each lane carries 250 mb/sec in each direction. Future releases, will increase this speed further (expected to be released in 2011).

Right, so computers can be basically be broken down into two ideas: the physical and conceptuality.

The Physical

The Physical idea of the computer refers to what it can do. This means the limits of its hardware, and software. Anything that is physically related the computer, parts, accessories etc. all relate to the physical idea of a computer. Example: a disk containing Word

Conceptuality

Conceptuality refers to the capacity to which the computer can fulfill. This concept goes past the physical limits and applies to the ideas that the computer is capable of processing and handling. This is the sum of the parts and their overall potential. Example: The program Word has the potential of communicating will people all over the world, and yet this potential is sealed within a tiny disk.

Life Example

The most concrete example I can give relates to the human itself. Physically, we more or less the same, with arms, legs and a head. However, the sum of our parts and our potential is very different. We are all individuals and have many differences and similarities, and yet we are all encased in essentially the same body. The difference between one person can be seen through the physical, and yet the conceptuality of each one of us is the more important part of the two halves.
